2023 AP4D Report Released

In an article titled, “Australia’s vital role in securing Timor-Leste’s future” and published by the Mandarin, Melissa Conley-Tyler and I discuss Australia's role in supporting Timor-Leste's security and stability. We cover Australia's defense cooperation and various security initiatives with Timor-Leste, highlighting the importance of these efforts in the context of the countries' complex historical relationship with Australia.

Australia's multifaceted approach includes defense training, maritime security, disaster risk reduction, and efforts to combat gender-based violence. Partnerships based on mutual respect and shared leadership to effectively support Timor-Leste's peace and security is the way forward.
