Dr. Miranda Booth is an Australian scholar of contemporary defence and strategic studies for the University of New South Wales in Canberra at the Australian Defence Force Academy.

Prior to returning to Canberra to engage with matters of Australia’s national interest, she was based in Darwin, the forefront of Australia’s defence.
Drawing from her background from Australia’s premier university in International Relations, her specialism in International Security prepared her to lead the creation and convenorship of the Bachelor of Humanitarian Aid and Development at the University in Darwin one of Australia’s and the world’s few humanitarian degrees.
Dr. Booth’s work has been published in both political science and international relations journals, and by the Australian Government and the United Nations.
Dr. Booth has also contributed to Australian Government security policy initiatives and multilateral military exercises.
Dr. Booth has successfully held research and teaching roles (garnering awards) across Charles Darwin University, the University of Melbourne, and the University of New South Wales.
Dr. Booth holds a PhD from Charles Darwin University, an MPhil in Politics & International Relations from the University of New South Wales, Canberra, home of the Australian Defence Force Academy, the Bachelor of International Relations from Australia’s first and highest ranked International Relations Department from the Australian National University and after attaining the required 5 years of higher university leadership and teaching experience she received the coveted Graduate Certificate in University Teaching from the University of Melbourne with first class honors.
